Did you ever tell a story about an interesting thing that happened to you? Did they say to you to tell the story again?  That happened to me and that is why I wrote my story, Face To Face With John Lennon.

It is one of the chapters in my book, It Happened In Alaska.
And now, Jana has that story on her website, Growing Up Anchorage.com.

Enjoy

Sunday-sun, Monday-moon, Saturday-Saturn: From the Anglo-Saxon (Old English) just to mention a few days of the week.  As the scholars write, we think. As the poets write, we ponder.  As we go through our day, let us look around and let us see where words are placed and perhaps choose a kind word to share with one another.

Kindness to all,

August first written down in 1097, in Old English from latin (mensis) Augustus, month of (Augustus). The eighth month of the year from the Gregorian calendar having 31 days.
And this... au gust  The august bearing of the king. definition: Inspiring awe or reverence, majestic.

The mountains of the Alyeska Mountain Range in Alaska are quite august.  Hmm, never wrote it in a sentence like that before.
Words are fascinating.
Maybe I will use it in a script.

All my best,
Mary Jane Dougherty

Educating with words. This one for instance.  word, (noun)
A spoken sound or group of sounds that communicates a meaning.  Imagine if you will, this classic movie;  Gone With The Wind, with slang words.  What do you think it would have sounded like while you were watching it on the silver screen?
Odd, wouldn't you say?  Definition of this word; apply
ap ply.
To put into action.  As you and I go forward with our daily work let us apply goodness and kind words online and in all areas of our lives and to people that we meet.
Personally, words and their origin are fascinating to me.

All my best,
Mary Jane Dougherty
